Discover Italian Brothers Pizza & Pasta

Walking into Italian Brothers Pizza & Pasta feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot where the owners actually know why you came in hungry. I’ve stopped by more than a few times after long evenings in Citrus Heights, and the experience has been consistently comforting in that old-school diner way-no fuss, just solid Italian-American food served hot and fast. Located at 7664 Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States, it’s one of those places locals recommend not because it’s trendy, but because it works.

The menu leans into familiar favorites, yet it’s clear there’s intention behind every dish. Their pizza dough is made fresh daily, which aligns with the process recommended by the American Institute of Baking for achieving proper fermentation and texture. You can actually taste that balance between chew and crisp in every slice. One of the cooks once mentioned they let the dough rest longer than most chains, and that small detail shows up in the final bite. I usually go for a classic pepperoni, but the combo pizzas are layered generously without drowning the crust. When people say family-style Italian, this is exactly what they mean.

Pasta dishes are another strong point, especially if you appreciate sauces that simmer instead of being rushed. The marinara has that slow-cooked depth you get when tomatoes are reduced patiently, a method supported by culinary research from organizations like the Culinary Institute of America, which notes that longer simmer times enhance umami and natural sweetness. I’ve ordered their baked ziti more times than I can count, and it’s always arrived bubbling, with cheese browned just enough on top. A server once joked that the oven does most of the talking here, and honestly, that tracks.

What really sets the place apart is consistency. According to restaurant industry data from the National Restaurant Association, repeat customers value reliability even more than novelty. This diner clearly understands that. Reviews from regulars often mention that the food tastes the same every time, and that’s not an accident. Portion sizes stay generous, the seasoning stays balanced, and orders come out accurately. Even during busy weekend nights, the kitchen keeps its rhythm, which says a lot about their workflow and training.

Service adds to the appeal without trying too hard. It’s casual, friendly, and efficient, which matches the vibe perfectly. On one visit, I watched a staff member patiently explain menu options to a first-time customer with dietary restrictions, breaking down ingredients clearly and honestly. That transparency builds trust, especially in a time when diners care more about what goes into their food. While not everything on the menu is customizable, the staff is upfront about what can and can’t be adjusted, which I appreciate.

The location itself is practical, easy to reach, and surrounded by everyday life rather than tourist noise. That makes it a go-to for families, solo diners, and anyone grabbing dinner on the way home. Parking is straightforward, and takeout orders move quickly, which explains why so many reviews highlight convenience alongside taste. One regular described it as reliable comfort food, and that phrase sticks because it’s accurate.

No restaurant is perfect, and during peak hours there can be a short wait, especially for larger orders. Still, the food arrives hot and properly prepared, meeting USDA-recommended serving temperatures for safety, which matters more than speed in my book. If you’re looking for a polished fine-dining experience, this might not be it. But if you want honest pizza, hearty pasta, and a place that feels grounded in its community, this diner delivers exactly that, every single time.

  • Very good service, the young guy was so chill and the pizza was made with love and generosity. Of course it is not fine dining but the pizza came out hot and delicious. also, you cannot beat the prices

  • Some of the best wood fire pizzas I've had in the area. Especially loved their crust! Tried them out when they visited the Farmer's market at Folsom. Slightly pricier, but definitely worth it. Haven't had a chance to check out their full menu yet.

  • The New Yorker is seriously one of the best pizzas I’ve had. The sausage is super good and they put just enough ricotta. Highly recommend.

  • Just had their new Taco Pizza and WOW! Best pizza ever! Mind blowing!! I’ve been getting pizza from this place for years! Izzy treats all his customers like they’re family and he makes the best pizzas too!

  • Dinner comes with a large roll of garlic bread, and a small salad that was actually good (green, not full of heels and weird vegetables. Decent dressing) Alfredo is creamy. Portions are massive. Order 2 meals for 3 ppl and you'll still have food left (unless you're all triathletes or lumberjacks or morbidly obese, or some combination of the 3) Deals on multiple pizzas are pretty good. Appropriate, considering the lobby is the size of a large closet, just like Lil Cesars. Seating for 4, facing the wall & window. But you'd be more comfortable eating on your trunk or tailgate outside This is the future of dining. If you want to open a restaurant, this is the template that works. A tiny dual-liquor-store adjacent hole in the wall, open until midnight 7 days a week, catering to all the delivery apps with an emphasis on quantity. Pretty sure it's also a ghost kitchen, providing food for multiple different take-out only "restaurants". But this is the source. Order direct to avoid fees (or use all the coupons/discounts offered by various delivery apps) Apparently the church came and exorcized the apparitions that formerly inhabited this place. They expanded to the adjacent address, and moved the haunted items next door, moving the entities in the process. So the exorcism wasn't even performed inside the main kitchen area. I was worried about potential ectoplasm contamination, until i found this out
